On Utsunomiya Citizen's Day, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the Hasuda Laboratory of the Department of Department of Information and Electronic Engineering Faculty of Science and Engineering, Teikyo University, and the robot club RoboLab received the Utsunomiya Citizen's Award. Utsunomiya City designates April 1, the day the city was established, as Citizen's Day, and awards organizations, individuals, and companies that are engaged in outstanding activities in the community, schools, and other areas.
The award was given in recognition of the Hasuda Laboratory's receiving the highest award, the President's Award, at the 18th University Student Invention and Ingenuity Contest, and RoboLab's winning first place at the World Robot Olympiad 2024 Japan competition and 16th place at the Turkish World Competition. This is the fourth time the Hasuda Laboratory has received this award, and the fifth time for RoboLab. Professor Yuichi Hasuda and Seiin Kamiyama (4th year, Faculty of Science and Engineering) represented the Hasuda Laboratory, and Ryota Kanda (2nd year, Faculty of Science and Engineering) represented RoboLab, and received the award certificate and commemorative medal from Eiichi Sato, Mayor of Utsunomiya City.
