On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, a Student Doctor Certification Ceremony was held at Teikyo University's Itabashi Campus for fourth-year School of Medicine students. The Student Doctor certification certifies a certain level of knowledge and skills, and the university (hospital) guarantees the medical practices of certified medical students. The students who received this certification and their white coats this time were those who passed the nationally standardized computer-based testing (CBT) and OSCE (Objective-Study-Care Examination) and will begin participating in a hands-on clinical training program in the second semester of 4th year. During the ceremony, Teikyo University School of Medicine Dean and Senior Staff Professor Hirotaka Kono spoke about the mindset required for hands-on clinical training, where students will participate as part of a medical team. Additionally, Teikyo University Hospital Vice President Yayoi Tada spoke, urging students to hone their communication skills to function as a team in an environment with many people, including doctors, nurses, patients, and their families. The students listened intently. As the students put on the white coats with their names embroidered on them, they were reminded of their awareness and responsibilities as those aspiring to become doctors, and renewed their resolve.
